1st Birthday Party/ Awards Night

This coming Sunday we have what we hope will be an exciting family night planned to celebrate the end of our very first season as a club.

This season had lots of positives, although we did not win much!! (all that will change next year!) we had 135 children register with the club. We had lots of parents take an interest and join in committee, fundraising, and coaching areas of the club. We had many of our coaches, take part in further coaching qualifications, which enhances the quality of training and supervision we can give to the kids. 2 of them also qualified as referees, 2 of only a handful of lady refs in the country. The great atmosphere in the club was also a huge positive, and children have made friends outside their own schools and parishes, which again is a great thing.

So a great deal to celebrate..... and Sunday is the night for it, the 27th June at 6.30pm at the Bulgaden Castle Lounge.... there will be a medal presentation for all players who played with us last season... finger food, and a disco.... we also hope to tempt you with buying a few raffle tickets to benefit club funds..... the prizes on offer include a framed castle united goalie jersey signed by the Irish National Soccer Team, who were so cruelly denied a deserved place at the world cup...... also 2 admission caps for the JP McManus Golf Pro Am, which is certainly a prize many locally would like to win!

So there you have it, please come along on the night, no charge on the door, looking forward to seeing everyone again... and heres to the start of the 2010/11 season in late August....

Back on Track!!!

After a very long break, I am determinded to make an effort with this blog!!
I stopped doing it last year, as it really felt like just nobody was out there, and it was all a bit pointless, so please please, if you do read this, join as a follower, or add on a comment,
and then at least that will spur me on to actually keep going....

I hope that the families, players and coaches etc of Castle United will be interested
in seeing regularly news, photos and updates during the coming soccer season.

Monster Table Quiz at the Lounge!!!!!!

Our Table Quiz is due to take place next Thursday 3rd Dec, at Bulgaden Castle Lounge.

It promises to be an exciting evening, full of laughs and socialising, but also a great quiz, set by our own local quiz expert Pat Corkery, with a fabulous 500 euro prize for the top table. Plus 2nd prize is a round of golf for 4 at Ballineety Golf Club, and there are other exciting consolation prizes for the runner up tables. On the night we will be also holding a raffle, and there are lots of prizes for that, kindly donated by a range of local shops and businesses.
Plus extra spot/door prizes

Lets not forget too, that the Quiz night, will also be a valuable fundraiser for Castle United, its an expensive thing to run the club for a season and to plan for the clubs development, which we hope next year will include a Junior club. Fundraising is therefore a constant and vital part of the clubs activities.

So please, especially Parents, try and support this night.
